Bio

I am currently Professor of Spanish in the Department of Romance Languages at the University of Oregon, where I joined the faculty in 2003. In the same year I received my Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from UC Berkeley, where I wrote my dissertation under the direction of Charles Faulhaber and James Monroe. My research focuses on the literary footprint of the confluence of Christianity, Judaism and Islam in Medieval Spain, and on Sephardic culture in the mediterranean. I teach courses in Medieval Iberian literature, Sephardic studies, Aljamiado literature, and other associated topics.
